Anyone who has held a fermented Swiss leaf between their fingers understands why connoisseurs speak of it with such reverence: dense, aromatic, with a depth mass-produced tobacco simply does not know. Every Heimat product exists in two varieties. Both grow on the same Swiss fields – their character parts ways only later: in the curing method and in the duration of fermentation. It is not the recipe that decides, but time.
The aroma is not made in a laboratory. It emerges over weeks of fermentation in Payerne – shaped by the soil, by the summer, by patience. Connoisseurs taste Swiss tobacco the way they taste a great wine: every vintage carries its own signature, every terroir its own hand. It is precisely this singularity that makes it a rarity.

MYO stands for « Make Your Own » – tobacco for filling filter tubes. The 250g tin is the grand reserve of the manufactory: a hand-picked traditional blend for those who do not sample Heimat, but live it. Every tin comes from a documented batch – traceable back to the field.

Our blend is shaped by dark Burley, a tobacco long underrated in Switzerland, yet carrying more character than words can capture. In Payerne, in the heart of western Switzerland, this Burley is fermented: under controlled heat, with plenty of time and even more experience. This is where the earthy, nutty notes come from that make Heimat Dunkel so unmistakable: round, bold, with a finish that lingers.
A fine share of Virginia tobacco adds finesse to the blend, but leaves the stage to the Burley. The result is not dominance, but depth. Not harshness, but weight. For people who are looking for substance rather than strength.
Like all our tobaccos, this one comes 100 % from Swiss soil: harvested by hand, delivered fresh from the field, grown no more than four hours from our manufactory in Steinach on Lake Constance. There we process it with the purest Swiss mountain spring water, with no additives and no detours, only with what origin, craft and attitude can bring together.
