Our blend is characterized by dark Burley – a tobacco that has long been underestimated in Switzerland, yet possesses more character than many words can express. This Burley is fermented in Payerne, in the heart of western Switzerland: under controlled heat, with plenty of time and even more experience. This is where the earthy, nutty notes that make Heimat Dunkel so unmistakable emerge – round, powerful, with a lingering aftertaste.
A fine proportion of Virginia tobacco adds finesse to the blend, but leaves the stage to the Burley. The result is not dominance, but depth. Not harshness, but weight. For people who seek substance, not strength.
Like all our tobaccos, this one comes from 100 % from Swiss soils – harvested by hand, delivered fresh from the field, no more than four hours from our manufactory in Steinach on Lake Constance. There, we process it with the purest Swiss mountain spring water, without additives, without detours – using only what combines origin, craftsmanship, and husbandry.
Heimat Dunkel isn't a variation. It's a counterpart. For people who see tobacco for what it once was—a product of the earth, time, and skill. No off-the-shelf blend. No industrial noise. Just a dark tone in the chord of our heritage.
